Tashkent, Uzbekistan 2007

I was horrified the first time I arrived in this country. From the window of the aircraft I can only see desert and sand. I'm so convinced there is really nothing. The plane almost landed and that's when I started to see buildings. The city is smaller compared to our previous posting. I was separated for sometime with my husband. I just gave birth to our little one and I have to wait until she can travel. I'm thankful I have my nanny with me. We are both Filipino and we became really good friends in this foreign land. The good news is my first impression about this country didn't last. I started loving each day I was here and will always remember the wonderful experience we had.

This is the street near to our house. Compared to Jakarta the streets are so empty . I never worry about letting my little one walk around.

These are the typical Soviet style buildings.

BINGO!!! At last I saw a car parked along the street, another car heading somewhere and a single person sitting in this town.
