Tashkent, Uzbekistan 2007

I was horrified the first time I arrived in this country. From the window of the aircraft I can only see desert and sand. I'm so convinced there is really nothing. The plane almost landed and that's when I started to see buildings. The city is smaller compared to our previous posting. I was separated for sometime with my husband. I just gave birth to our little one and I have to wait until she can travel. I'm thankful I have my nanny with me. We are both Filipino and we became really good friends in this foreign land. The good news is my first impression about this country didn't last. I started loving each day I was here and will always remember the wonderful experience we had.

This is the street near to our house. Compared to Jakarta the streets are so empty . I never worry about letting my little one walk around.

These are the typical Soviet style buildings.

BINGO!!! At last I saw a car parked along the street, another car heading somewhere and a single person sitting in this town.

Singapore 2006

We went to Singapore to celebrate Christmas and New Year. It was just before I gave birth to my 2nd child. I was so big and heavy. I was thinking to show one of my photos but I can't betray myself,no no no. Look at what I had for Noche Buena.

This made me heavier.

My Home Town

I missed my home town. This is where I was raised, this is where I grew up and this is where I used to run around. I remembered picking up fresh tomato for dinner. I used to visit our neighbors plantation and help them pick up corn when its ready. This year we visited but I didn't see any crops growing. Is it because of the irrigation system that is not working?

Philippine Carabao

Kambing

Lechon
Part of these land is where my family grow their crops.

Filipinos are very hospitable. People do prepare lechon, pinapaitan or calderetang kambing to welcome  guest.

Jakarta Indonesia 2011

This was the country where I decided to start blogging. Every country is different. They have their own beauty and charm. Here you only have two options: one, love it or two hate it. I remembered Uzbekistan. I love the weather. It's very cold during winter but most of the time weather is lovely. Food is very good. It's the place I remembered using a lot of butter and flour. Summer offers you juicy fruit. It's the place where you can buy a kilo of cherry for a dollar, beat that! How bout juicy strawberry paired with home made kaymak. But there's a down fall. Strawberry last only for 2-3 weeks so you have to enjoy it as much as you can. I'll tell you more about Uzbekistan once I find time. Jakarta is such a big metropolis. Life is busy, very busy. I can't do many things in one day. Be prepared when you go out. Most of the time you will be spending your day sitting inside the car. At first I was wondering why people always have companion. It's because of traffic jam. At least you entertain each other talking about something while heading to your cherished destination.
My Mom and Dad traveled all the way to Jakarta to spend holidays with us in Lombok.
